SR Technics upgrades Virgin Atlantic A330-200 cabi

Swiss maintenance provider SR Technics has reconfigured the cabins of four Airbus A330-200s for Virgin Atlantic.

The project included installation of business and economy seats, in-flight entertainment equipment and a customised trolley stowage unit on each aircraft, says SR Technics.

All four airliners were previously in the fleet of now-defunct German carrier Air Berlin, Cirium's Fleets Analyzer shows.

Virgin Atlantic's head of cabin product and maintenance, Rick Daniels, describes the cabin retrofit project as a "very successful programme… to improve our customer proposition on these aircraft".

Noting that SR Technics developed supplemental type certificates for the installation, Daniels adds: "They achieved this in extremely challenging timeframes to a very high standard, and on cost.
